Review of The Residence 2025: Story Summary
A State Dinner is held at the Office of the President of the United States, i.e. the White House, with the Prime Minister of Australia. The management of the White House falls to Chief Usher A.B. Wynter, who presides over the House. A.B. oversees all White House staff, as that is the function of an Usher. On the evening of the State Dinner, A.B. inspects the work of all the staff and the organization of the House, as usual. He endeavors to provide all necessary facilities for the Australian delegates.
After inspecting all the facilities, he goes to his office. Upon arrival, many people enter his office to greet him. Work in the White House is proceeding normally. Then, the mother of the American president passes by A.B.’s room and finds him covered in blood and lying on the floor. Seeing this terrible scene, the president’s mother lets out a screaming cry. Hearing her scream, everyone on the floor gathers around.
Some other high-ranking White House officials try to conceal this murder. The only motive is so that the Australian delegates can successfully arrange the State Dinner with the president. But these people cannot hide A.B.’s death even for one night. News of his death spreads quickly through the White House. The president, upon arriving at the usher’s office and seeing the incident, immediately orders an investigation. The U.S. government selects Detective Cordelia Cupp to solve the mystery of A.B. Wynter’s murder. CIA agent Edwin Park assists her in the investigation. Cordelia Cupp’s way of investigating can be strange. She is heavily influenced by birds, so her investigative style is inspired by them. This style does not appeal to any character in the series. However, her wonderful way of working may appeal to the audience. He solves this mystery thanks to his intelligence and bird-like methods.
Is “The Residence” really a great murder mystery series?
Nowadays, people love mystery and murder stories. Netflix has also prepared a good murder mystery series based on this preference. Detective Cordelia Cupp’s investigation style is unique and excellent. She is a very intelligent detective. Her way of working comes across as funny yet shocking.
