Some people become so selfish in their greed for money that they put many innocent people in a critical situation. Because of this, their lives are ruined or ended. But why am I telling you all this? The reason is Caught (Atrapados), which premiered on Netflix yesterday. I just finished watching its 6 episodes. I will try to give a detailed description of the series Caught and make a review, but I won’t give you spoilers, you can be sure.
To understand the plot of any kind of story, you first have to know its important characters. Therefore, I will first describe the big and main characters of the Netflix series Trapped, which will include their portraits. The most important actress of Atrapados is Soledad Villamil. She has played her character by the name of Ema Garay, who is a journalist in a news media.
Besides Soledad Villamil, there are other cast members who are important parts of the story of the Atrapados series. Alberto Ammann, whose name is Leo, has played the character of a school teacher. Like Alberto, Juan Minujín, Fernán Mirás and Matías Recalt have had extensive screen time in the series.
Caught (Atrapados ) story summary on Netflix
Atrapados series begins with Ema Garay. She is chatting with an unknown person in a multiplayer online game. After a while it is revealed that Ema is talking to a suspect using the game account of a victim girl. A person with a perverse nature is walking around the city, chatting online with teenage girls and asking them for private photos of their bodies and then blackmailing and raping them. Ema is suspicious of that online gambler and feels that he has raped the victim girl by deception. That girl is covered with a big cloth at that time so that she cannot see the culprit’s face.
When journalist Ema learns about this serious crime, she starts investigating on her own to bring the culprit before the people. In this case, she gets no help from the police because she had already reported many similar crimes to them before. But they do nothing on their own and the police themselves take credit for the evidence found in the investigative journalism done by Ema. They are a stain on the name of the police, their salary comes from the common people. Now they take credit for the investigation done by Ema by calling it their own.
Ema chats with that unknown suspect in an online game for many days. One day, she arranges for the suspect to meet her in a public place. But he does not keep the appointment that day. Meanwhile, during her investigative journalism, she meets Leo. Leo is a teacher of school children. Ema used to go to that school often because of her job, as teenage girls in this school are facing the problem of online bullying.
Her first encounter with Leo is very good. Both of them also find themselves getting casually intimate at a place. After a few days, Ema gets very close to investigating that online bully. In her investigative journalism, she discovers that Leo is the online stalker who seduced those girls and then raped them by deception. Ema makes a video of it and publishes it in the media. The families whose girls have been raped now know Leo. Because of Leo, their daughters’ lives have been ruined and their parents demand strict measures against him from the administration.
The night Ema has to call that suspect to meet, she sees Leo there. She understands that he is behind all this. She then makes a video and exposes him, but she can’t catch him. Leo runs away from there. Everyone finds out about Leo through Emma’s investigation. The police are looking for him all over town. Leo stays hidden from the police. Meanwhile, Leo is shot dead by the father of a victim girl. Because of this, he dies but his body falls into the waterfall.
This story so far is only a small part of this series. Emma thinks she has ended this affair by exposing her stalker online, but nothing of the sort happens. She later learns that she has made a big mistake. Leo is an innocent person, but someone has cleverly accused him of this crime. From here, this program gets even more exciting. So far you have understood the details of the story in the first 2 episodes.
My final thoughts on Caught – Is this series good?
How does it feel when a person’s life ends due to someone’s greed and negligence? If you understood this feeling, then I would like to recommend Trapped. This series seems like a simple series at first glance. When I was watching the initial episodes, I had decided to give it a 1 star rating ⭐ out of 5 ⭐. But by the time I finished watching it, I had changed my decision. After watching it all the way through, I can safely say that Netflix may release a second season as well. It really is full of suspense.
