The Netflix film Delicious is directed by Nele Mueller-Stöfen, who has also written the story. It was released in multiple languages on March 7, 2025, on Netflix. The runtime of Delicious is 1 hour and 40 minutes. But is this movie really as “Delicious” as its name suggests? I have watched the entire film, and I found it to be quite disappointing.
Delicious is a short film, which is why it has very few characters in its cast. The main actors in the film include Carla Díaz as Teodora, Fahri Yardım as John, Valerie Pachner as Esther, and Naila Schuberth as Alba. But does this Netflix film introduce a new storyline concept, and is it worth watching?
Delicious (2025) Netflix Film Storyline
John and Esther are a married couple in this story. They have two children, Philipp and Alba. Their family is financially well-off, and they are spending their vacation at their second home. One night, while returning home from a party in their car, John accidentally hits a girl with his car in the darkness. The girl’s name is Teodora.
Teodora is a mysterious and strange girl.
Instead of taking her to the hospital, they bring her home, apply medicine to her wound, and bandage it. Teodora does not suffer any serious injuries, except for a deep scratch on her right hand. The family compensates her financially for their mistake and sends her away.
However, the next day, Teodora returns to their house. She tells them that due to the injury caused by their car accident, she has been fired from her job. “I have applied for another job, but until I find one, I would like to work at your house.” Feeling guilty, John’s family cannot refuse her request.
Teodora begins to win their trust. Through her behavior, she creates a positive impression on John and Esther. Initially, she starts as their housemaid, but over time, she becomes part of their family. However, the youngest child, Alba, dislikes Teodora because she discovers that Teodora is not a good person.
If you have seen the trailer, there is a scene where Teodora is secretly eating raw meat.
Teodora is a mysterious girl, and she has some friends who are just like her. They have a zombie-like habit of drinking blood and eating human flesh. However, the film does not explain why they do this, as writer Nele Mueller-Stöfen did not make any effort to provide an explanation.
As Teodora becomes part of the family, she destroys their relationships, leading to the complete downfall of the family.
Acting Performance & Direction in the Film?
No one in this film has given a good performance. Nele Mueller-Stöfen’s weak direction and writing style completely ruined it. The ending of the film also seems incomplete and disappointing. If it was made as a comedy, then perhaps there would be no need to explain the characters eating raw meat, but despite being a horror film, it fails to present its basic story properly.
Is Delicious (2025) Worth Watching?
When I started watching this film, the opening scene felt weird and pointless. Often, in many films, the story becomes interesting as it progresses, but after watching this film till the end, I felt nothing like that.
This movie is absolutely ridiculous and a waste of time. After watching it, I cannot recommend it to anyone. The filmmaking is full of mistakes, and there is almost no background music. The lack of music makes it impossible to connect with the film’s events. The story itself is terrible. I would give this movie a rating of minus 5 stars ⭐ (out of 5 stars ⭐).
Warning: Do not watch this film! It is a complete disaster 😔 movie.
